A week in Antigua

On Monday 12th February I started having lessons with another teacher, as my previous one was booked by another pupil for two weeks. In the afternoon I had marimba lesson and this time another adult started learning as well. Afterwards I treated myself to ice tea and chocolate cake at my café and did my homework. After dinner I met up with people from school and introduced them to the delicious ice cream place. This time I tried their chocolate and peanut butter ice cream. ?

The next day I went for another fabulous massage and that Wednesday I had another marimba lesson. This time the two of us were joined by an American woman and afterwards we went to my café for a little chat in Spanish. After dinner I went for a walk with my housemate and we talked about life, love, and how frustrating it can be to learn Spanish. That Thursday and Friday in the afternoon I went to the gym and afterwards to different cafés to do my homework.

On Saturday I had breakfast at my café, went to the gym and picked up my laundry. In the afternoon I rang my parents, met my Polish friend at a French café, where we shared a yummy strawberry tart, and went to the supermarket.

On Sunday I had breakfast at another café and visited my German friend at the hostel.

In the afternoon my Polish friend and I went to Caoba Farms

and had lovely sandwiches made with great bread and other delicious ingredients while listening to live music.

On the way back into town we stopped at the plant nursery cum café, another real oasis here in Antigua.

Last stop was the church La Merced and it’s first carpet this lent, made of coloured sawdust.
