On Wednesday 25th October, we took the 7.5 km Skyrail Rainforest Cableway to Kuranda.

The scenic views over the Barron Gorge National Park in the Wet Tropics of Queensland’s World Heritage Area are amazingly beautiful.

Kuranda itself is awful, being a very touristy place, but luckily we were booked on the earlier vintage train back to Freshwater. I really enjoyed the ride and the fantastic scenery.

A bus took us back to the skyrail car park and we went to a car wash self service having great fun cleaning our faithful spaceship. Back at the campsite we packed our bags, cooked our last supper in Australia and enjoyed a can of cider or two.
