Caves, beaches… and three spaceships in a row

On Friday 20th October, at 9 am, we went to the Capricorn Caves for the first tour of the day because we still had a lot of driving ahead of us.

The older lady who showed us round did a brilliant job being very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and a great storyteller. At Cathedral Cave she created a fantastic atmosphere using candles and torches, and played music to us so we could experience the great acoustics.

Then we hit the road again, just stopping at Mackay and Bucasia beach for a lovely walk.

Around 6 pm we arrived at Airlie Beach and checked in at a slightly hippie and alternative campsite with one spaceship campervan either side of us, one belonging to a dealing guy from Saxony… 😉
